 Dear Mr. Kasukuwere

\r\n

Salutation: Minister of Youth, Indigenization and Empowerment

\r\n

Greetings in the full name of Real Youth Emancipation,

\r\n

I write to urge you to immediately reconstitute the Zimbabwe Youth Council (hereafter, ZYC) so that it can reflect the spirit of inclusiveness that is prescribed by the Global Political Agreement and the subsequent Government of National Unity. It is our considered view that the ZYC as it is presently constituted does not reflect the political state of affairs in our country.

\r\n

Secondly, and related to the above, I write to request your office to ensure that some of the provincial youth officers that are recruited by your ministry should come from the MDC. Again, this is in line with the direction set out by the GPA and the all-inclusive spirit of the Government of National Unity.

\r\n

Last, but not least, I write to enquire on the status of the national youth programme. There are allegations that the programme has been churning out rowdy youths who are deployed countrywide to intimidate those that are perceived to be opposed to ZANU PF’s near-hegemonic rule. I am therefore seeking clarity on this matter and your co-operation will be greatly appreciated. I would recommend that an independent commission of enquiry be immediately set up to establish the merit of the above allegations. Should the commission confirm the allegations, you would need to move with speed to reform the programme or to disband it all together. If such a programme continues, I regret to inform you that you will be held liable in your personal capacity as the person that superintended over a quasi-military youth group that committed atrocious crimes against humanity.

\r\n

\r\n

I am looking forward to your kind response,

\r\n

Yours Faithfully

\r\n

\r\n

Promise Mkwananzi
