Mister Mutasa, will you just shut up. Please!

For those who might have missed it, below are the words Mutasa is quoted as having uttered: "After all the party consultations, Cde Lesabe was not declared a national heroine since she did not end her tenure in ZANU (PF) after leaving to join the Dumiso Dabengwa-led ZAPU"

This reminds us of the words of the words of Lao Tzu (between 6th and 4TH centuries BC) when he said "He who knows does not speak. He who speaks does not know". Lao Tzu was a breed of great thinkers of who in today’s world are extinct. What with the emergency of the likes of the Mutasas and Mahosos of this world masquerading as thinkers and inventors of diesel oozing rocks. Not that we are bothered by the denial by ZANU (PF) in conferring our dear heroine of the status she earned and clearly deserves, for we are aware that for once in very few instances, ZANU (PF) got something right. They were wise enough to understand that conferring her heroine status was going to cause collateral damage to their party. They decided to save themselves the embarrassment because the writing was clearly on the wall in bold black and white, that Thenjiwe’s body was only going to the ZANU (PF) Harare hill over our dead bodies.

Who in their right minds would have allowed a heroine like Lesabe to lie next to some celebrated thieves, rapists and blood-sucking vampires? Allowing that to happen would be akin to dishonouring and shaming the spirits of those who suffered in the hands of an unrepentant regime. So, well done Mutasa, this time you had your thinking cap on. Except for one thing, you are implying that only ZANU (PF) is the breeding ground, and final paddock of national heroes. Breeding ground and final paddock? Yes indeed, but then ZANU (PF) is a breeding ground for irreparably damaged old human models who do not know if they are coming or going. If anyone can take Didymus Mutasa seriously they can as well believe in Rotina Mavhunga who fooled Mutasa and gang that diesel can mysteriously ooze from hard rocks. We refuse to be fooled by Mutasa and all associated with his dying party, for to us our heroes were born and they belong in our hearts, not some infamous hill in Warren Park. We are comforted by the words of another philosopher, Gautama Buddha (c.563-c.483 BC) when he said, "We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts we make the world"

We are also not contesting that ZANU (PF) is a paddock full of tribal fundamentalists who believe that a certain tribal group is superior to others. Instead of Mutasa going hysterical about our Thenjiwe, he must explain why he and others in ZANU (PF) had sanctions extended on them. These sanctions are a simple indictment of those among us whose hands are dirty with crimes against innocent Zimbabweans. They need to be reminded that one day they will also die, and when that happens, some of us will attend the funerals only to deposit some foul smelling substance acquired from the human body through a process called digestion of foodstuffs.

In the meantime we thank colleagues from ZANU NDONGA for publicly grieving with us in this difficult time. You have clearly showed that you are not as small minded and vindictive as some of our political opponents who think that heroes were born in 1999 when some victims of police bashing started claiming heroism. For Ndonga and ZAPU, we stand guided by what Plato said, "It is better to suffer wrong than to do wrong".
