Announcing Paradza’s appointment to Radio VOP on Wednesday,IFJ Executive Committee member, who is also the ZUJ Secretary General Foster Dongozi said Paradza’s wealth of experience in the journalistic field landed him the top post.

“We are very glad by the appointment of Mr Paradza as African Journalists representative. His appointment was necessitated by the wealth of experience in trade unionism and media issues as well as his interaction with African journalists over the years. Prior he used to be the IFJ focal person in Southern Africa,” Dongozi said.

Dongozi said the appointment of Paradza to be a commissioner of the IFJ will help improve the country’s media industry.

“The benefit to us is that we now have …a person who understands our problems and if we want any suggestions we can now personally hand them over to him or discuss with him those issues, “said Dongozi.

Paradza will join other commissioners in January next year in Brussels. The Commission will prepare a draft of changes to the constitution that will be finally decided upon at the outset of the next IFJ Congress in 2013. The Congress agreed that the draft of proposals from the Commission will be prepared by the end of 2011. – Radio VOP
