MDC-T director-general denies sex charges

MDC-T director-general Toendepi Shonhe yesterday appeared before a party disciplinary committee investigating allegations of misconduct and abuse of office levelled against him.

Shonhe was allegedly caught in a compromising position with Sandra Mutsimba, an MDC-T information officer, at a Bulawayo lodge recently.

Sources said Shonhe denied the charges and he committee asked for more time to investigate the matter.

The committee comprises MDC-T national executive members Mr Norman Mabhena, Ms Lucia Matibenga and Mr Innocent Chagonda.

"The two (Shonhe and Mutsimba) appeared before the committee today at Mr Chagonda’s offices.

"They were asked to make separate submissions and the committee deferred the matter to a later date," said the source.

Shonhe refused to comment on the matter.
