MDC representatives in South Africa approach Simon Khaya Moyo

CAPE TOWN – The exiled leaders of Zimbabwe's Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) have entered into discussions with that country's ambassador to South Africa, the party said on Tuesday.

"The leadership of the Movement for Democratic Change in South Africa paid a courtesy visit to ambassador Simon Khaya Moyo as a gesture of goodwill in the ongoing power-sharing talks," the MDC said in a statement.

The MDC’s Austin Moyo and Sibanengi Dube held a brief meeting with Moyo at his offices in Pretoria.

"We discussed various issues affecting Zimbabweans in diaspora including the need for the inclusive government to comprehensively deal with repatriating Zimbabweans back home," the MDC said.

The visit took place amid concerns over Zimbabwe’s political rivals’ failure to reach an agreement on forming a unity government.

President Robert Mugabe and MDC leader Morgan Tsvangirai signed a power-sharing agreement more than three weeks ago after contested presidential and parliamentary elections.
