Tighten smart sanctions on Mugabe – AfriForum
Civil rights group AfriForum on Wednesday said smart sanctions against Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe and his associates must be maintained
AfriForum said a decision by multi-national Nestlé to close its processing plant in Zimabwe is a sign of the crumbling economy in that country.
The company has cited police and state harassment following a decision to stop buying milk from a farm owned by Mugabe’s wife Grace as the reason for the closure of its plant there.
AfriForum’s Alana Bailey said smart sanctions against Mugabe and his inner circle must be maintained.
"Instead of supporting the end of smarts sanctions against Robert Mugabe and his inner circle the South African government should rather encourage Mugabe regime to lay down its power," said Bailey.
