HOW Mine, who parted ways with their coach Luke Masomere, have made an offer to Warriors coach Callisto Pasuwa. Chikurupati, as the club is affectionately known, have turned to Pasuwa for salvation. Sources close to Pasuwa said the coach was unlikely to consider the offer because it was not attractive.
“I think it was an insult considering his profile and status. “What they offered him is far much less than what he was getting at Dynamos, not only in terms of figures but also other perks, so it will be like one step forward and two steps backwards,” said the source. Pasuwa’s manager Gibson Mahachi said they are yet to be approached by How Mine and they will cross the bridge when the club approaches them.
In the meantime, the club has appointed their assistant coach Jerry Makote to take charge of the team ahead of the Chibuku Super Cup match against ZPC Kariba at the National Sports Stadium.
ZPC Kariba coach Sunday Chidzambwa said it would be difficult to meet a team which has just parted company with their coach. “Sometimes when you play such teams they would be motivated and it would be difficult, but we will try to put in a lot of hard work in the game. “As coaches and players, we want to win each and every match as it always feels good to win a game, but with football it does not always happen like that,” he said.
On Wednesday, his men beat Harare City 2-0. Last week they also beat Whawha 2-1 at Nyamhunga. Disclaimer: Due to circumstances beyond our control, we are unable to publish the Sharuko on Saturday column this week. Any inconvenience caused is sincerely regretted.
