Industrials bounce back as week ends

HARARE – Equities on the local bourse finally bucked the prolonged losing streak as the industrial index recovered 0.67 (or 0,50 percent) to close at 135.53.

Beverage giant Delta gained $0,0135 to close at $0,8435, while CFI jumped $0,0039 to settle at $0,0400. Old Mutual gained $0,0029 to close at $2,8000 and Mashonaland Holdings was marginally higher by $0,0001 to settle at $0,0201.

But the gains were partially offset by losses in giant retailer OK Zimbabwe which dropped $0,0002 to $0,0748 and conglomerate Innscor shed 0,0001 to trade at $0,5949.

Despite today’s gain the industrial index lost 0.29 (or 0,21 percent) compared to the previous week.

\n

The mining index lost 0.07 (or 0,20 percent) to close at 35.34 after gold producer Falgold dropped $0,0010 to $0,0040.

\n

The balance of the mining stocks, namely BNC, Hwange and RioZim maintained previous price levels at $0,0280, $0,0340 and $0,1200, respectively.

\n

On a week-on-week basis, the mining index eased 0.18 (or 0,51 percent).
