HIGHLY-RATED CAPS United left-back, Ronald Pfumbidzai, has made the grade at Danish top-flight side Hobro IK with the Young Warriors skipper set to join the team next month.
The roving wing-back spent weeks on trials at the Danish side and made a huge impression with the club making a decision this week that they will take him on board.
His handlers confirmed last night that Hobro IK officially advised them this week that Pfumbidzai had passed his test and he was now expected to join the Danish club if the player and his club accept their conditions.
“Ronald has just become the latest Zimbabwean player to make the grade at a European club and that is very good news for him,” his handlers revealed.
“He is at the right age and the Danes believe there are some aspects of his game that they also need to work on to turn him into the player they believe he can become.
“It’s a big breakthrough for him because we all knew that he was good and he can launch his career in Europe at this Danish club.
“He is excited that it has all come to this and he has paid a lot of tribute to CAPS United for giving him the stage to play the game at a high level and, even though, he had issues with the club, in the past, he feels he owes everything to them.
“That is why Ronald is withdrawing all the cases that he had with CAPS United because he believes that the club has been key to his profile building and, until he leaves, he is promising the fans that he will do his best to win matches for the Green Machine.”
There has been a rainbow of sanity at CAPS United after Harare businessman, Farai Jere, completed his takeover of the club by acquiring the majority stake at the Green Machine.
Jere now controls 80 percent of the club with the former club owner, Twine Phiri, now the minority partner in the franchise. The Green Machine have won their last two matches since news broke out that there has been a change of ownership at the club.
Rodreck Mutuma, Stephen Makatuka and Dominic Mukandi, who had walked away from the club in frustration, are back at the team.
Meanwhile, Dynamos defender Sydney Linyama and midfielder Stephen Alimenda have been suspended ahead of the trip to Nyamhunga this Saturday for a Castle Lager Premiership battle against ZPC Kariba.
The pair is among a group of seven players that will miss the games after accumulating three yellow cards each in their previous outings.
DeMbare are likely to feel the pinch, especially in their central defence where Linyama had formed a solid partnership with skipper Augustine Mbara.
Unfortunately the gritty midfielder will be back on the sidelines as their coach David Mandigora go out in search of a positive result to appease the multitudes of supporters.
The Glamour Boys are currently second on the log standings with 22 points, four behind leaders Chicken Inn.
The other players who have been suspended this week are Charles Sibanda (How Mine), Andrew Chuma (Hwange), Philip Chandisaita (Buffaloes), Ben Nyahunzvi (Chicken Inn) and Marvelous Dikinya of Chapungu.
Saturday: ZPC Kariba v Dynamos (Nyamhunga), Chapungu v Chicken Inn (Ascot)
Sunday: Dongo Sawmill v Harare City (Vengere), Buffaloes v Whawha (Sakubva), Hwange v FC Platinum (Colliery), Triangle v Tsholotsho (Gibbo), CAPS United v Flame Lily (NSS), Highlanders v How Mine (Barbourfields).
