The Herald should not mislead people into thinking that Edmund published his falsehoods in The Zimbabwe Mail.

\n

Mr Edmund Kudzai: The owner of The African Aristotle and deposed Sunday Mail Editor.

\n

For a long time we have ignored this because we thought this was a mistaken identity or it was a cheap shot towards us.

\n

The Zimbabwe Mail now decides to put this right because we feel this is a deliberate smear campaign to clean-up a dirty arse using our name. We have no problem enjoying free exposure from The Herald but we can’t own up to something that is not ours and that why we try to credit all the articles we take from other publications.

\n

\n

The Herald people or rather Jonathan Moyo’s mob must not deliberately distort information in order to provide cover for their friend. The facts are that Edmund Kudzayi published these falsehoods against the President and his family while he was writing as The African Aristocrat, a website that he ran.

\n

At the time he was a virulent critique of Mugabe and Zanu PF before he became a turncoat and started praise-singing as Amai Jukwa in The Herald and on Newzimbabwe.com, which at the time was edited by Mduduzi Mathuthu, who is now, rather conveniently, the editor of The Chronicle, another of Zimpapers’ titles.

\n

The fact of the matter, which The Herald is trying to cover up is that there is a ckear pattern – from their boss Jonathan Moyo, Mduduzi Mathuthu, Edmund Kudzayi – all of thrm have a similsr pattern. We also know that the Social Media Editor of Zimpapers is a former staffer at an anti-government NGO, Crisis Coalition.

\n

They are all former critics of Robert Mugabe who have turned around when they joined the gravy train and now sing praises of Mugabe and Zanu PF and defend their vile rule. They are in it for the money or as part of Moyo’s project to destroy Zanu PF from within as some of his detractors are claiming.

\n

However, they must not drag The Zimbabwe Mail into their mess. We have nothing to do with Edmund Kudzayi. If he, as the African Aristocrat, who wrote about Mugabe’s ill-health and the alleged rape of Bona Mugabe, not us at The Zimbabwe Mail.

\n

The Herald know this but Caesar Zvayi, its editor is only trying to cover up and protect one of their own by attributing his past nonsense to us.

\n

Everyone who uses the internet has a digital footprint and its does not go away. These people must enjoy their ride on the gravy train, supping with the Devil. It’s their choice and their democratic right. But they must not drag us into their mess. Let Edmund have his cake alone. He is, after all, The African Aristocrat or so he called himself at some point when Mugabe and his family were fair game.

\n

The Zimbabwe Mail has no copy of this article and there are no cyber footprints that points to us.

\n

No amount cleaning up of Edmund Kudzai’s past by mob lynching and besmirching will turn around vile attack on Robert Mugabe’s daughter.

\n

Edmund Kudzai’s footprints are all over this.

\n

We are denying this not that we feel threatened or intimidated but we feel it is not right to own up to something that is not rightfully ours. That story on Bona Mugabe’s rape was and is and will ever be a footprint for Edmund Kudzai – just like the Baba Jukwa case of which the State merely withdrew the charge and promised to proceed by way of summons.

\n

If Edmund Kudzayi is a decent man he should own up to his past and not allow lies being thrown around for his new quasi-political role in the hatchet job for a team assembled by Jonathan Moyo.

\n

Own up Edmund! Own up to the deeds of The African Aristocrat.

\n

As for you Caesar Zvayi, as Brutus said; “The abuse of greatness is, when it disjoins. Remorse from power: and, to speak truth of Caesar. The sufferance of our souls, the time’s abuse,— If these be motives weak, break off betimes, And every man hence to his idle bed; So let high-sighted tyranny range on” – you have lost the plot.
