Caps fans welcome new ownership structure

Caps United fans are hopeful the new shareholding structure where Farai Jere now owns 80 percent of the club will bring a change of fortunes at the club.

Under the new shareholding structure at Caps United, Twine Phiri now has just 20 percent stake in the club, while Jere is now a major shareholder.

Despite a change in shareholding, veteran football administrator, Chris Sambo said change in shareholding may not be a solution to the problems bedevilling Caps United.

The Green Machine has struggled to meet its financial obligations with players boycotting training as well as their encounter against How Mine.

\n

Caps United head coach, Mark Harrison has also been subjected to threats of eviction due to the club’s failure to pay the Englishman’s rent.

With a change in shareholding structure, Caps United fans are hoping Jere will be the club’s saviour.
