MP had a successful tour in Yorkshire

LEEDS, UK – A Zimbabwean MP, Paul Madzore took time out from his humanitarian fact finding and musical tour of the UK to visit Ripon.

Paul Madzore, who represents Glenview South in the country’s capital, Harare, was able to meet Ripon Hornblower George Pickles and attend a barbecue along the banks of the River Skell held at the Water Rat pub on Saturday.

The sun shone as visitors enjoyed food, music and singing with the event culminating in a passionate speech by Mr Madzore in which he called for reconciliation and peace for all Zimbabweans.

Earlier in the week, Mr Madzore had attended the quarterly meeting of North Yorkshire County Council, in Northallerton, after being invited by its chairman, Coun John Savage.

His whistle stop tour of the country was focused primarily on meetings with various charities, supporters and individuals who support Zimbabweans less fortunate than themselves.

The MP returned to Harare on Monday where he will brief his country’s prime minister, Morgan Tsvangirai, on his visit.
