A 17-year-old Sanyati girl’s leg was amputated last week at Harare Central Hospital after she was attacked by a crocodile while crossing Munyati River. Patience Tsabola who is now recovering at the country’s major referral hospital, requires $3 000 for medical attention. She was attacked by the reptile on February 15 while returning home to Chigwida Village under Chief Jelele in Sanyati. The crocodile mauled her right leg before she was rescued by villagers.
“I am lucky to be alive,” she said from her bed at the hospital.
“I had to throw everything I was carrying to distract attention from the crocodile, I called out for help from villagers who later assisted me.”
Her mother, Ms Siphiwe Phethula, is now appealing for help. Those wishing to assist can contact Ms Phethula on +263 779 005053.
