CAPS United . . . . . . . . . . .0LEADERS Triangle humiliated CAPS United at Gibbo yesterday with an emphatic victory that kept alive Kelvin Kaindu’s fairy-tale start to life in the Lowveld.
The Green Machine left the Lowveld a humbled lot after one of their worst defeats which mirrored the problems that have been plaguing their camp.
It could have been an even bigger win for the hosts had it not been for the good performance of ‘keeper Victor Twaliki.
Pasca Manhanga, Nhamo Lameck and Charles Rukwanhi all came close, before they opened the scoring, with Twaliki standing firm.
Rodreck Mutuma thought he had put his side ahead in the 13th minute but his effort was disallowed for offside.
The hosts went ahead in the 33rd minute after brilliant interplay between Tichaona Chipunza and Hillary Bakacheza.
Rukwanhi crossed for Richard Kawondera to power home.
Bakacheza was again in the mix, two minutes later, when he was fouled and Lameck curled a beauty home.
Lameck, with his second of the game, and Felix Kuswatuka, in the second half, buried the Green Machine.
“Our performance was shocking, we didn’t do anything from start to finish and I am not happy with the way we played and the way we conceded the first three soft goals,” said CAPS coach Mark Harrison.
“We allowed Triangle to play and they replied by playing brilliant football and I cannot make any excuses about this loss.”
Kaindu praised his men after one of his best wins.
“It was a great game and scoring four against CAPS is just wonderful and shows that we are heading somewhere. This is just the beginning, we want to get points that will save us from relegation and then we will start talking about the rest,” said Kaindu.
