The expulsion of Mutasa and Mliswa from parliament follows the notification by the ruling party Zanu PF that the two were no longer representing the interests of the revolutionary party on the 19th of February this year.

\n

In his ruling, the Speaker of the National Assembly Jacob Mudenda said taking into consideration the party’s request to recall the legislators after they were expelled from the party means vacancies have arisen in Headlands and Hurungwe West by operation of law.

\n

Mudenda said administrative processes will take place to allow for by-elections in the two constituencies.

\n

Mutasa and Mliswa were expelled from the party two weeks ago by the politburo as their behaviour was deemed out of sink with the vision of the revolutionary party.

\n

Mliswa, who was among the parliamentarians, walked out of the August House before the Speaker could finish his ruling.

The decision by parliament means dates for by-lections will be announced soon.
