He incorrectly stated the Zimbabwe cricket team’s score during their World Cup match against Pakistan in Brisbane, Australia.

\n

Moyo’s remarks immediately triggered a storm on social media, with most accusing the former Tsholotsho MP of manipulating figures to suit his own desires.

\n

“#ZimCricket Much better bowling 2day as Chevrons continue 2 hold their ground against Pakistan who are 158-6 after 49 overs. Go Boyz Go!” Moyo tweeted.

\n

He was, however, quickly corrected by The-Great-Heisenberg , who uses Twitter handle @BrianZW1.

\n

“@ProfJNMoyo Jonathan moyo you’re lying. It’s just 39 overs. This is sport not politics,” he bellowed.

\n

Tapiwa Bvekera also weighed in, blasting Moyo for conveniently stating figures to suit his own desires.

\n

“@ProfJNMoyo not surprised, you can play with numbers to suit what you want. Wish you were keeping the scorecard.#nikuved #zimcric,” Bvekera said.

\n

The-Great-Heisenberg continued the onslaught on the minister.

\n

“@ProfJNMoyo you said 49. You’re either half asleep yourself or you’re wearing your spin doctoring cap. Take it off and enjoy the game,” he tweeted.

\n

Moyo, however, found defence in one Conant Masocha.

\n

“@BrianZW1 It’s not a lie but a case of one not understanding all the rudimentaries of cricket,” CMasocha ‏tweeted.

\n

Moyo also came to his own defence, claiming it was an innocent mistake.

\n

“@chidazvi @ZimCricketv It was of course 39 but as a Moyo I guess my heart wished it was 49, hence my wishful typo.”
