Moses Chunga blasts team managers
HARARE – Gunners head coach, Moses Chunga, has accused team managers of putting coaches under pressure and interfering with the technical staff duties when they speak from an uninformed view point regarding football teams’ technical issues.\r\n
Tempers erupted at Rufaro Stadium after Gunners Welfare Manager Wellington Mpandare gave pre-match media briefings ahead of the tension laced Dynamos-Gunners encounter which saw Moses ‘Bambo’ Chunga threatening to leave the bench and let the manager take over the coach’s role.
Chunga, who had adopted a quiet stance to the media since the beginning of the season saying his performance will be judged by his results on the field of play was left with no choice but to break his self imposed media black out and gave a comment after the fiasco, saying managers must not speak on technical matters as it places unnecessary pressure on the coaches.
The outspoken coach feels that coaches are both responsible and accountable for what transpires on the field of play while managers are not blamed when things are not going well for the team.
