THE Zimbabwe Under-23 trip to Swaziland for the All Africa Games qualifier which set to played next weekend has been called off with the beleaguered Zifa claiming force manjeure.
In laymanâs terms, force manjeure is only applied where it is no longer humanly possible to fulfill a match.
The Young Warriors now risk the wrath of Caf who are almost certain to ban them for three years, becoming the third national representative side to be banned since the Cuthbert Dube led board came into power.
The Under 17 and the Under-20s are already under the cage after they failed to fulfill their away matches two years ago. Highlanders Football Club were also victims of the administration after they were entered into the club competition without their consent.
âThe trip is off because of force manjeure but we will be issuing a full press statement later today,â said the Zifa chief executiveofficer Xolisani Gwesela.
Under-23 coach Callisto Pasuwa had already called up a provisional 21 member squad that was meant to go into camp at the Zifa Village today.
