VIA Orlando!

WARRIORS midfield talisman Kudakwashe “Nkembe” Mahachi has been confirmed among the nine new players that have signed for Absa Premiership giants Orlando Pirates ahead of the 2018/2019 season.

In his Facebook post that was accompanied by a graphic of the nine new Buccaneers players on Monday evening, Mahachi, who is currently in his home town in Bulawayo, said: “God is great #New home.”

The evergreen Mzilikazi bred was in the books of Durban based Golden Arrows alongside his compatriots Danny “Deco” Phiri, Knox Mutizwa and Thomas Chideu.

His manager Gibson Mahachi recently told B Metro that the player had all the blessings to join the Sea Robbers.

“I must say footballers are always looking forward to bigger challenges and Mahachi (Kuda) has all the blessings from me as his manager to join Orlando Pirates.

The esteemed football agent added “Yes, we have seen Zimbabwean players struggle at Pirates, but that should not stop Kuda. Some South African players have struggled in European leagues and we have seen them retrace to the Absa Premiership. Generally speaking, given any challenge some players make it, some don’t so why should he (Kudakwashe Mahachi) not go and play for Orlando Pirates.”

The 24-year-old attacker, fondly known as Nkembe, arrived in South Africa with huge expectations and has spent the last three seasons at Lamontville Golden Arrows from Mamelodi Sundowns.

Despite injury lay-offs‚ has been a shining light for Abafana Bes’thende. At Sundowns, a club he joined in 2014, the left-footed and ginger haired footie star failed to crack the nod and  reports suggest that he will link up with his new teammates in Johannesburg after a deal has been reportedly struck between his parent club Sundowns and the Buccaneers.

Sea Robbers assistant coach Rhulani Mokwena is said to be an admirer of the 24-year-old’s talents after working together at Sundowns when the player first arrived in South Africa from Zimbabwe.
