Epworth man hangs self

HARARE – Nyikavanhu residents in Epworth woke up to a shocking sight after a 35-year-old man hung himself to death on a tree following a domestic dispute.\r\n

The now deceased David Kamwendo had had a protracted domestic dispute with his wife of more than 10 years, Stella Likoswe.

According to Stella aged 32, irreconcilable conjugal differences led David Kamwendo to take up his life.

According to relatives and neighbours, the deceased once moved out of their matrimonial home to Beitbridge hoping the situation would have changed for the better when he returned.

Upon his return, the late David Kamwendo started having problems with his wife, which resulted in her leaving their matrimonial home for her parents’.

Darlington Kamwendo, brother to the deceased, said the death of his brother did not come as a shocker since his marriage has been on the rocks for far too long.

Efforts by a number of counselors who include Msasa Project, the police among others, to settle the impasse between the couple, appeared fruitless as the two could not come to terms.

Ms Regina Likoswe, deceased’s mother-in-law said she had done her best to reconcile the two, but without success.

As the couple’s situation got worse, the deceased took away his belongings from their house and would sleep in a stationery blue mini-bus.

It was only yesterday night that David decided enough was enough and took a noose with which he hanged himself on a tree in their yard.

When the Zbc News crew arrived at the incident scene at mid-day, David Kamwendo’s soulless body was still dangling on a tree as the police homicide department was to still to attend to the scene.
