Mutare City target DeMbare scalp

Mutare City Rovers interim coach, Ndega Matsika will be out to prove his credentials, when his side locks horns with Dynamos in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match at Vengere Stadium on Sunday.

He was in charge in his side’s shock 2-1 win over Caps United at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Matsika was the team’s goalkeepers’ coach before he took over from Joseph Takaringofa, who was shown the exit door following a spate of poor results.

Yesterday, Matsika said he was not reading too much into the win, saying they are now focusing on Dynamos, whom he said are capable bringing the Mutare-based side down to earth.

“I am not reading too much into Caps win, although it gave the players the confidence they needed looking ahead at the Dynamos match,” he said

‘’We are not looking too much into Dynamos’s poor form of late, we know they are a big team and they can rise anytime, so we need to be at our best to record a positive result,’’ he said.

On Sunday, DeMbare suffered their heaviest defeat of the season so far going down 3-0 to Triangle at Gibbo Stadium.
