Sungura ace Alick Macheso will tonight make his debut performance at Legends Sports Bar in Marondera.

Macheso who is under pressure from his fans to release a new album is set to re-unite with his fans in the Mashonaland East Capital after a long time.

He used to perform at Rudhaka Stadium and Marondera Hotel.

This will be the first time to perform at the venue located at Nyameni Business Centre.

Despite delaying the release of a new album, the musician has been drawing crowds to his shows.

His yesteryear hits “Madhawu”, “Baba Namai”, “Mundikumbuke” and “Sarah” among others have been thrilling fans at most of his shows.

He suffered a major setback after pirates recorded some of his songs from the coming album and released them.

Macheso’s manager William Tsandukwa said they were preparing for a new album.

“Macheso made it clear that he will be taking his time to give people the best and as I speak the guys are busy preparing for the new stuff,” he said.

Tsandukwa said they would sample new songs at the show.

“We last perform in Marondera last year and at that venue it will be our first time and we are looking forward to the show,” he said.

Venue owner Daniel Masaiti said they have laid the ground work for the show. “Big artistes like Macheso require that we prepare well before the show so that fans at the venue get the best,” said Masaiti.

He said though they have hosted other big artistes as well they would keep on improving their standards at big shows.

Others artistes who have managed to attract crowds at the venue are Jah Prayzah, King Shady, Suluman Chimbetu, Progress Chipfumo, Peter Moyo, Diana Samkange and Pah Chihera
