‘Tafadzwa Macheso’ sparks violence

Ace sungura musician Alick Macheso’s ex-wife Tafadzwa Fortunate Mapako sparked violence at Dandaro Inn on Friday when she ordered her two bodyguards to manhandle award winning Newsday journalist Winston Antonio who was capturing Kodak moments of the disgraced socialite.

\n

The incident occurred during Sulumani Chimbetu ‘s well attended show.

\n

Since her legal battles with Macheso, Mapako has been shying away from live shows.

\n

However, on Friday she made a comeback to the limelight.

\n

The drama started when Mapako made a dramatic grand entrance into the show venue, accompanied by two bodyguards, drawing the attention of revellers and paparazzi.

\n

The seemingly overzealous bouncers shoved off revellers  who wanted to get a closer look at the ‘long lost’ socialite.

\n

She was whisked away to the VIP section created for her at the back of the venue .

\n

It is at this juncture that Mapako shouted at journalists who were asking for interviews and ordered his bouncers to pounce on Antonio.

\n

The bodyguards complied and manhandled as well as ordered him to delete the pictures he had captured in the line of duty.

\n

She also claimed that her bodyguards were from the President’s Office as she poured beer on Antonio.

\n

“ Why are you taking us some photos, these guys are from the President’s Office and they will deal with you (sic),” fumed Mapako.

\n

This publication could not immediately ascertain the authenticity of the claims.

\n

However, the claims are like  dejavu because she has a track record of associating herself with the President’s Office. During her marital squabbles with Macheso , it emerged in newspaper reports that she would threaten Macheso using the name of the President Office.

\n

It was reported that she would blackmail Macheso by hiring people purporting to be officials from the President’s Office and she also claimed she had relations in ‘high political offices’.The melee was only quelled by the club security.

\n

Club owner Partson ‘Chipaz’ Chimboza had to whisk Antonio away through the back door and he only returned after the situation had calmed down.

\n

Mapako claimed the only reason she attended Sulumani’s show was to pick up her sister who was part of the revellers.

\n

Meanwhile, Sulumani put up a top drawer performance and his new album Gunship is proving the biggest thing on the showbiz calendar to date.

\n

This was evidenced by the way fans requested tracks from that album.

\n

Sulumani also took the opportunity to thank Savanna Tobacco for endorsing him as their brand ambassador and he invited the company’s chief operating officer Tongesayi Zvaravanhu on stage.

\n

Zvaravanhu re-iterated that Sulumani carries a famous name, but he has become a trendsetter in denderamusic.

\n

The endorsement deal will see Sulumani speaking on behalf of Pacific cigarettes brand.

\n

The package offered by Savanna Tobacco covers  direct artiste support, publicity and marketing, album launches and other materials.
