National police spokesperson, Charity Charamba said the female ‘rapists’, who are working with a gang of males, are now terrorising travellers from South Africa by offering them transport to Harare before turning on them demanding sex at gunpoint.

Charamba said in one of the recent incidences, a 22-year-old man based in South Africa was offered transport to Harare by an unregistered vehicle which three occupants, a male and two females who pretended to be strangers.

“When they reached Chivi turn-off, the male driver changed direction and drove along Tokwe-Mhandamabwe road for about four kilometres before robbing the complainant of his valuables including cash and a cell phone at gunpoint,” Charamba said.

The police said, the gang then tied the complainant’s hands with a rope and drove along the same road for a further three kilometres.

“Another vehicle emerged from behind and signalled the first vehicle to drive into a narrow dust road. Two females disembarked from the vehicle which was following the one in which the complainant was in, holding pistols. The male person who was driving the first car then injected the complainant with an unknown substance and ordered him to have sexual intercourse with the three female accused persons,” the police said.

\n

“This is the third incident to be recorded on the Masvingo-Beitbridge highway inside two weeks,” she said.

\n

Charamba warned members of the public from boarding private vehicles, especially unregistered ones, as this exposed them to such attacks.

\n

“Police would like to warn these merciless female criminals that their days are numbered. We have activated all our police intelligence teams to be on the lookout for them,” she said.

Two years ago, female ‘rapists’ hogged the limelight, harvesting male semen for unknown reasons.

In an unrelated case, police said a gang of armed robbers is now targeting churches, especially Zaoga.

“While the police is doing everything in its power to ensure that such cases do not occur, members of the public are urged to be vigilant and report suspicious persons to the police. Church authorities are once again implored to regularly deposit their monies with financial institutions to curb robbery cases” Charamba said.
