Man up for sodomising 10 boys

HARARE – A 25-year-old man from Epworth in Harare has been arrested in connection with cases of sexually abusing 10 young boys.

Blessing Hove is alleged to have sexually abused the minors from November to December 2014 after being tasked by a local school to conduct a boys scout training programme.

\n

Police Spokesperson, Chief Superintendent Paul Nyathi said investigations have revealed that the accused would invite the minors aged between 9 and 14 years for night camping episodes where he would order them to strip naked in darkness and then go on to sexually abuse them.
\nHove is being charged with aggravated indecent assault.

\n

Police urged parents and guardians to monitor all recreation activities their children will be taking part in to ensure their lives are not put at risk.

\n

Meanwhile, Hove will spend the next 48 hours in police detention following a successful application for a warrant of further detention lodged by the investigating officer in the case.

The investigator told Harare magistrate, Mr Milton Serima that he had successfully managed to interview and record complainant statements from seven of the 12 boys allegedly violated by Hove and he needed time to record the remaining five in the highly sensitive case.
