Grace 'won't be charged'

Hong Kong – The Hong Kong government says Zimbabwean first lady Grace Mugabe is immune from prosecution for her alleged attack on a British photographer in the Chinese-ruled territory in January.

Mugabe allegedly punched Richard Jones in the face when he was taking pictures of her near a luxury hotel in Hong Kong while on assignment for The Sunday Times.

Hong Kong’s Department of Justice said in a statement sent to The Associated Press on Sunday that the Zimbabwean first lady is exempt from prosecution under Chinese regulations about diplomatic immunity and privileges. – AP
