Another Zimbabwean footballer's contract terminated

JOHANNESBURG – A week after Mamelodi Sundowns cut short Simba Sithole's contract, former Warriors goalkeeper Energy Murambadoro has found himself without a club after Bidvest Wits Wednesday released him from his contract.

Information coming from South Africa is to the effect that Murambadoro has been deemed a surplus to requirements at Wits after the Students signed Jackson Mabokgwane from Mamelodi Sundowns.

\r\n

The club’s Chief Executive Officer Jose Ferreira revealed Wednesday that they have parted ways with the former Zimbabwe soccer star of the year award winner.

\r\n

Murambadoro has to move fast to secure another club as the player registration deadline for the Absa Premiership is August 31. He can also not play in the remainder of the Zimbabwean programme is the player registration deadline has passed.

\r\n

Murambadoro was crowned the 2005 Castle Soccer Star of the Year, a year that Caps United won their second successive league title under the coaching guidance of Charles Mhlauri.

\r\n

Murambadoro’s departure from Chiefs comes just a week after Mamelodi Sundowns had terminated the contract of Sithole.

\r\n

The Zimbabwean had a four year contract with the Brazilians but was asked to leave with three years still remaining of the marriage.

\r\n

Sithole did not play in a single Absa Premiership match for the Brazilians since joining the team from Caps United.

\r\n

Sithole and Sundowns are understood to have agreed on a termination package and the player is now a free agent with the freedom of joining any team he wants.
